Dub fielded a revamped team for this game and despite being beaten by a superior Trinity side there were a lot of positives that manager Art Kernan can take from the game as dub approach rthgeir crucial shield game with adelaide.
Patrick O'Reilly, Kyle Rendell and Kevin Duffy all got some match fitness when playing their second games of the season. Patrick had a particularly good first half while Kyle excelled at right bacvk in a much-changed Dub back five. Kevin Duffy had another soloid game in midfield while Darren Price had a very impressive debut. Gareth Dickson showed his leadership qualities having taken temporary control of the captaincy. Michael Smyth showed he has the potential to be a class keeper even if it is onbloy his wavy hair that puts off thge opposition.
All the regulars performed well but it was obvious that this team hadn't played together much and Dub will surely be boosted by the return of MCusker, Harvey, Doherty and who knows maybe even Mullan on Sunday. Sean made his first appearance of the season but unfortunately he was not selected and remained on the sideline. As for McToal, Smyth and Hodgkinson .... they are on the way back.
