Dub turned up in Cherrvale on Sunday with a squad twice the size of Adelaide's to secure a cup quarter final place for the third year in a row.
In a game that ended prematurely and will live long in the memory for some spectacular misses on from of goal. While McCusker was unable to play he was able to nominate a number of players who should be challenging for his crown. Cormac, Phil and Michael all had good opportunities to score but the miss of the season must surely go to Sean Doherty .. with only the keeper to beat he unfortunately screwed the ball wide of the post.
Goals came in the 18th and 25th minute vourtesy of a mazy Mullan dribble and finish and Art Kernan's sliding finish from a Smyth shot that was going towards the corner flag. The game ended shortly before half time when Adelaide suffered an inkury reducing them to just six men. With their internationals back on board this week expect a very different match in the league this week.
