This was Dub's last pre-season friendly before the start of the season and probably their toughest. It was encouraging to see the biggest Dub squad available for a few years turn up at Mallusk.

The game started at a high tempo and Dub were under pressure from the start. Tullymore's 4-3-3 confused the feck out of Dub the entire first half with Dubs back four of McGurk, Docs, Harvey and Neil doing well to contain them for the first twenty minutes.

Against the run of play Sean Mullan managed to chip the ball past the keeper from a tight angle after the ball bounced through Tullymore's area. 1-0.

Tullymore scored a goal from some late man marking from a corner. 1-1.

They scored again from a pulled back pass from the byline to the penalty spot.

Half time saw the changes of Doherty, Mullan and Neil Off and Colm, Dickson and Philly on.

Dub settled a bit more in the second half with Donal moving up front to support big chris. A corner from Dub pressure saw the ball drop to Docs who couldn't miss from 2 yards, left foot, top of the net, 3-2.

Tullymore scored through good play from their wingers again, a pass across the box found a man a yard out, tap in, 4-2.

McCann tested the cross bar with a free kick from well outside the area, and dub were continuing to look for goals.

A dipping effort from Phil found the cross bar not long after.

Late in the game, impact sub Paddy McDonald ran onto a miscontrolled cross to go past the keeper. 5-3.(these scores don't add up but who can remember the order of 8 goals, you owe me a beer Alan)

Although this was one of the toughest sides Dub have played in preseason, the end result does not do Dub justice as it could easily have been a draw.

McGurk was awarded MOM for his determined effort to play football regardless of the Tullymore pressure but refused to accept any awards until his fitness improves so SeanMullan got it because he played well throughout.
