After the festivities on Friday night Dub were just about recovered, apart from Gareth's hangover, for the match against Trinity.
Dub started the game well and had most of the possession in the opposition's half. Trinity scored early against the run of play with a strike aided by the wind. Dub stayed in control of the match despite the goal and soon after won a corner which found its way to Docs who equalised from close range to make it 1-1. Five minutes later Mark found himself with a bit of space on the left and played a ball into the box to find Phil who made it 2-1 off the post. Another 5 mins later and after good work from Big Chris and Michael on the left, Chris shot across the box and Phil scored with diving header at the back post, 3-1. At the half-time point Dub where definitely in control of the match. After the break Dub continued where they left off, Cormac received a long pass from Chris and finished with a superb header over the keeper into the top corner, 4-1.
With the game getting stretched the chances kept on coming. Gareth found himself on the ball just past the half-way line with no Trinity defenders in front of him, unfortunately after running half the length of the pitch the shot just went a foot wide. Chris found himself in a similar situation soon after but instead of shooting before reaching the puddles in the box Chris decided that trying to go through them might be fun. After trying to shoot 14 times and not having any support because everyone else was splitting their sides laughing the Trinity defenders finally dealt with it. Spud then decided to get in on the entertainment by doing a back roll on the ground with the ball between his legs, no one tackled him because they weren't sure if he was having a fit or not. Donal got bored watching the antics outfield and persuaded Harvey to give away a penalty so he could get involved. The Trinity forward passed the penalty back to Donal who still managed to drop it. Chris then managed to get the ball after some good work from Pete and Mark and after getting past the puddles he finished cooly, 5-1. In the closing minutes Ryan found himself with space in the Trinity box and scored in the bottom left corner. 6-1.
