Dub FC continued their good start to the season with a fine win over Boca Seniors at Ormeau Park on Sunday. Dub bounced back from last weeks defeat against Hotspurs, their first of the season, with a comprehensive 5-0 victory.

Dub dominated the first half from start to finish and an understrength Boca Seniors side struggled to cope with Dubs early aerial bombardment. Seniors held out until the 20th minute. Art Kernan was fouled 25 yards from goal. Ryan McGaughey aka Roberto Carlos struck the resulting free kick with such pace and power that it swerved into the top corner. Soon after Kristian Hill sent in a long throw from the left that was sweetly met by the head of John Quinn. The big fella has now scored in every league game this season. On the stroke of half-time Shane Murphy put in a cross that eluded McGaughey and McCusker but Art Kernan managed to tee it up for Cormac Kernan to power home.

Boca Seniors poured on the pressure at the beginning of the second half but last ditch defending at super goalkeeping from McCollum helped Dub to hold out for their first clean sheet of the season. Against the run of play Dub were awarded a penalty. This was coolly despatched by Dubs top goalscorer, Michael Smyth.

McGaughey replaced McCollum in goal as Dub went in search of more goals. Indeed it was McCollum attacking instincts that set up the move of the match. He took on two Seniors defenders before passing to Cormac Kernan on the left flank. Cormac Kernan crossed to McCusker who laid the ball of for Art Kernan to fire home Dub's fifth and final goal.
